The Armour of God

 

Ephesians 6 11:18 ..."Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."

We need to put on the full armour of God so we can stand against the wiles of the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 says. "The devil is like a roaring lion seeking for someone to devour."

Just think about what Peter is saying here. The devil is always out with his millions of angels seeking someone to take and devour. He may even devour you without you even realising if you are not prepared wearing the armour of God.

Friends, the time has come for those of us who are to be saved from Satan's devices, to put on the full armour of God. From the beginning of this earth's history to our own time today, our great enemy has been exercising his power to oppress and destroy, and he is now nearing completion of his final campaign against God's people.

THE BELT OF TRUTH

A belt hold all your clothes together in the same way truth holds things together in your spiritual life so that Satan can't deceive you! In john 8:32 Jesus says ... And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

And in John 14:6 Jesus says ..."I am the way the truth and the life."

THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

The breastplate covers the  vital organs of a soldier

and protects them. So then it protects them in spiritual life. Matthew 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Philippians 3:9 says... and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith. 

SHOES OF THE GOSPEL

We need to go forward sharing the gospel.The shoes protect the soldiers feet when they walk an stony ground. Mark 1:15...and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Romans 1:16 says... For I am not ashamed of the gospel [c]of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

SHIELD OF FAITH

 Just as a shield will protect a soldier from physical attack. True faith will protect us in times of severe attack, temptation and stress. If we have true faith in Jesus Christ, then there is nothing that Satan can do to deceive us.Matthew17:20 says...20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [a]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

HELMET OF SALVATION

 The head is the most vital part of our body, containing our mind. Therefore it needs special protection.1Thessalonians 5:8 confirms that the helmet is the 'hope of salvation'. This is the hope that all our faith and life is based upon, and gives usspecial protection. But Satan is doing his best to destroy that hope through the secular, atheist views of this world. So we must hold on dearly to this blessed hope. Acts24:15 says 15 I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection [e]of thedead, both of the just and the                                         unjust.

THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT              

 The other parts of the armour are defensive only. But this part is used not only to defend, but to attack also. And the weapon we use to defend AND attack is the Word of God.Proverbs3:5-6 says...Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b]direct your paths.

Friends, we are soon to see the final master delusion that Satan is to perform upon this world, and those who are not grounded upon the TRUTH will be swept away by the coming tide. It is time to put on the FULL armour of God. Not just pieces of it, but ALL of it, because Satan will find any weakness in you and attack you where you are not protected. Also, if you are not willing to fully surrender to Jesus Christ, then God will allow you to be taken in the final deception 

We now urgently need to die to the world and live to Christ. We must have a love for the TRUTH, no matter what the world is saying or doing. Will you surrender all to Jesus? Will you secure salvation for your soul? By earnest prayer. By placing all at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ, and by full dependence upon God, the victories that Christ won, make it possible for us to conquer! (Romans 8:37).
