GOD'S PROPHECY OF THE NOMINAL MAINSTREAM CHURCHES IN THE LAST DAYS

 There is an interesting prophecy given in Isaiah 2 and also repeated in Micah 4, which not only 

gives us another sign of the last days, but also gives us an insight into the workings and condition of the nominal mainstream churches before Jesus returns. Let's take a look:

Isaiah 2:1-4 ...'The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.'

The very same words are prophesied in Micah 4:1-3. This prophecy is clearly speaking of 'the last days.' And what is going to happen in the last days? "In the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it" (Isaiah 2:2). According to Hebrews 3:6 and 1 Peter 2:5, the Christian church is the "HOUSE of the Lord." And according to Jeremiah 51:25, a mountain is a symbol of a government or kingdom. The 7 heads upon which the harlot woman of Revelation 17 sits are "seven hills... also seven kings" (kingdoms, governments). So Isaiah 2 is prophesying that in the last days the Christian church would be established on top of the worldly governments and the nations would flow unto it. In other words, the nominal mainstream churches would CONTROL the governments of the world and be exalted above all.

This cannot be God's true church, because God's true people are NEVER established upon the governments of the world and never have any connection with or control over worldly governments. God's true church is established upon Jesus Christ alone!

The true church of God is a small remnant and is persecuted by the world according to Revelation 12 and 13 in the last days. So in Isaiah 2 we must be dealing with the nominal mainstream churches that have gone into apostasy and are seeking worldly honor and power. God also confirms, by His description of these people in Isaiah 2, that they are not His true people, but an apostate people. God says:

Isaiah 2:6-8 ...'Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.'

These churches receive teachings 'from the east' (spiritualism). They are 'soothsayers' (prophesy lies). They 'please themselves' (follow their own 'gospel', not the true gospel of Christ). They are 'full of silver and gold' (wealthy). They are 'full of idols' (false gods and worldliness). Does this not describe the nominal mainstream churches of today? Full of spiritualistic teachings, following their own version of the gospel, wealthy, worshipping false gods and idols of the world. And yet God continues to describe the condition of the nominal churches in chapter 3 of Isaiah, saying:

"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them" (vs.12) ... "the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet" (vs.16) ... "the chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, the bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, the rings, and nose jewels, the changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, the glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails" (vs.19-23).

Children disobey their parents. Women rule over the men in the family home and the church. The people are more concerned with fashion and how they look, rather than having a Christ like character. Is this not the description of the nominal mainstream churches today? It truly is, which is why the angel in Revelation 18 is warning .. "Come OUT of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven" (Revelation 18:4-5).

The 'house of the Lord' in Isaiah 2 must be the apostate, nominal churches which are seeking after glory and power in this world. Just look at the titles the ministers of these churches claim ... 'reverend', 'right reverend', 'doctor of divinity', etc. And yet the God fearing, holy apostles of Jesus Christ were simply called by their first names - Paul, Peter, John, Andrew, etc! Look at the luxury to which the ministers and people of the churches today live in, and yet the TRUE people of God in the Bible lived in poverty, giving their all for the gospel and kingdom of Christ. Look at the spiritualistic teachings, the idols and abominations in the churches today! Look at the unholy unity today between the churches and civil authorities, and yet the apostles and true followers of Christ in the Bible, and even Christ Himself, made every effort to remain SEPARATE from the civil powers. Oh what a contrast between the nominal mainstream churches of today and God's TRUE church!

Isaiah 2 says that 'ALL the nations flow unto' this church state union, with the church exalted above the state. So surely, Satan is to perform 'signs and wonders' to make the world think that God is behind this unholy union. Then the people declare the nations will "beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks" (Isaiah 2:4). This is NOT what God says will happen, but the people who join with the church-state union. And did you know that outside the United Nations headquaters in New York is a statue of a man beating a sword into a plowshare? This is fulfilling the very prophecy of Isaiah where PEOPLE or NATIONS would SAY "let us beat swords into plowshares, and spears into pruninghooks and not learn war any more." But God says something entirely different is going to happen:

Joel 3:9-13 ...'Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.'

Remember, "when they shall SAY, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

Do you see? In Isaiah 2 and Micah 4 we have a prophecy of the apostate church being exalted above the governments of the world and nations being drawn into the deception, proclaiming 'peace and prosperity.' But God proclaims 'sudden destruction' coming upon them, because the 'harvest is ripe ... the press is full ... and their wickedness is great.'

There is another very interesting part of this prophecy in Isaiah 2 which the people 'say' ... "for out of Zion shall go forth the law" (Isaiah 2:3)

So the people will declare that 'THE LAW' will go forth out of Zion - out of this exalted condition of the churches upon the governments of the world. What law? Well, they are proclaiming that God is with them and teaching them. So the law they are referring to must be the law of God. But what 'law' do these people follow? Man's OWN interpretation of God's law. Can you see where this is heading? What version of 'the law of God' is going to 'go forth' throughout the world and cause nations to 'flow into it'? The Roman Catholic version of God's law, which says SUNDAY is the Sabbath and the TRINITY god is the god all have to acknowledge. THIS is the 'law' which the people will 'say' is God's law and that all have to obey, which will be the fulfilment of the mark of the beast prophecy in Revelation 13.

Friends, we are living in that time Isaiah 2 prophesied - the 'last days.' A time where the nominal churches are clamoring for power over the civil governments. A time where spiritualism and false teachings are everywhere. A time where the nominal churches are very wealthy indeed, seeking after their own glory, rather than the glory of God. A time where the nominal churches are full of idols and abominations and their sins have 'reached unto heaven', ready to be judged by Jehovah! GREAT deception is coming through the mainstream churches and God is calling out to all His people still in them - COME OUT! It is time to follow Jesus Christ and HIM alone. The only place the mainstream churches and church leaders will lead you to is judgment and death. Follow Christ instead and He will lead you to life!
